About This Spot

Stepping into Mammy’s Kitchen feels like slipping into a beloved, well-worn diner where time moves at a gentle, welcoming pace. Located just off North Kings Highway in Myrtle Beach, the restaurant hums with a steady flow of friendly chatter and the comforting clatter of breakfast plates, inviting locals and visitors alike to settle in and savor a morning ritual that’s both familiar and full of warmth.

There’s a genuine rhythm here—an unhurried buzz as fresh dishes arrive at the buffet, plates being filled with golden pancakes, soft biscuits smothered in creamy sausage gravy, and hearty helpings of grits and home fries. The atmosphere is unpretentious yet alive with a quiet joy that comes from sharing simple, satisfying food made with care. Whether you’ve lined up outside during a bustling morning or slipped in just as the crowd thins, the attentive staff and the hum of breakfast conversations make this place feel like a communal kitchen away from home.

At Mammy’s Kitchen, breakfast is more than a meal—it’s a moment to reconnect with comfort on a plate and the easy company of a neighborhood gathering spot. The buffet’s variety reflects a thoughtful nod to classic Southern diner fare, where fresh fruit meets hearty eggs and bacon, and every dish serves a little taste of morning nostalgia. There’s a kind of reassuring generosity in the way the food arrives, always warm, fresh, and ready to be enjoyed alongside a cup of coffee or freshly squeezed juice.

This is the kind of place where mornings stretch on a little longer and simple pleasures matter most—the kind of spot that stays with you long after you’ve left for the day.

10/10! There is a line around the building where you have to wait in to get inside and you can see why. FRESH food at the buffet constantly coming out, fresh fruit. Including biscuits and gravy, grits, pancakes, French toast, hash browns, a variety of meats. An amazing meal and quick meal. Nice staff. Highly recommend to anyone. $15 per adult. VERY REASONABLE PRICE!

I've known about this place for decades but never had a chance to visit while I was working. Now that I'm retired I get to visit all these places I've missed out on for the last 30 years. Ordered the breakfast buffet and coffee. This will definitely be on my list of places to visit again when I'm in Myrtle Beach. Service and food were great.

This was our last breakfast in MB. It was great. The eggs were perfect and the corn beef hash was great. The biscuits and gravy was flavorful and creamy. We all had the buffet. I literally tried some of everything and there was nothing bad.

Great old fashioned diner with a great breakfast buffet. Food was fresh and delicious with lots of options. Best breakfast buffet i have ever eaten.

My Uber driver told me this was the best breakfast buffet in town. Ten minutes later, I found myself here. I got here at a good time because there was no wait! There is no waiting area, so you have to line up outside if there's already one party inside. I opted for the breakfast buffet ($15.99 per adult), and it was marvelous. I can't really eat much for breakfast, but I enjoyed all the fresh fruits: watermelon, canteloupe, honeydew, grapefruit, grapes, strawberries, etc. Too bad coffee is not included in the buffet. The corned beef hash and French toast were most notable to me. Service was ok. You have to ask the server for the bill, and then you bring it to the counter to pay. They sell merch like T-shirts and magnets. Bathroom available. No Wifi. Credit card accepted.

Amazing food ! Great quality! Hot and fresh! me & my husband ate here and without the tip costed about $25-30 The tomatoes was soooo good & so was their gravy. I will definitely visit here every year we come to the beach 10/10. Very affordable & very clean establishment.

Here are some pictures of the buffet. For me, this was the best buffet I could ever dream of for a breakfast buffet! They had phenomenal super fresh cantaloupe, watermelon, honeydew melon, grapefruit, and strawberries! They had two different kinds of eggs, Corned beef hash browns, sausage, bacon, biscuits, gravy, muffins, and best of all grits that did not clump! They also had a few other items which I did not include on here. The eggs did not taste packaged. They were fresh. It wasn't runny like they put milk in it. They tasted great. Were not gross like so many other buffets that have eggs that feels like you're eating soft rubber. If you're going to be in Myrtle Beach, I highly suggest that you make this one of your first food stops! This place is great if you have picky, finicky eaters that have even dietary preferences.
